Today was a long day! from the moment my feet touched the floor I was a busy little bee. I made some scones for my boys for breakfast and then we headed to the camping store to get more supplies for their weekend trip. Yes! I am without ALL BOYS this weekend...so lovely, I love them but they can get really noisy at times. After we got back I cooked lunch for them and hurried them out the door and then spent all afternoon cleaning. It won't last though, a shame really but at least I will be sleeping in a comfy bed tonight and have access to a toilet and shower. They will doing their version of 'man versus wild' while me and Ruby relax. Good times!

Today was the first day of my week break from uni *sigh* I wish it was two weeks but unfortunately it is only one but I shall make the most of this week. So today I bought some new socks. Today I had a caramel slice & creme brulee at Gloria Jeans *yum*

I really hate this plant and as much as I neglect it is still alive. It has these pretty pink flowers, and very smelly flowers. I got a bunch picked for me by Ruby so I have to keep for a couple of days. Vile plant.



OH! I forgot to mention I got the frankie diary I ordered in the mail on Friday. I'm not excited about it, in fact I imagined it a whole lot better in my head.



I've been drawing too...I enjoy it, but I really need to do a special class or course as illustration this semester is not about learning to draw. Very confusing :/

moments

I had the absolute worst day yesterday! and it continued to be horrible all day long. It seems that once a day starts off wrong there is nothing you can do to make it better, and I certainly proved it yesterday.

I printed out my project that was originally due Monday and one of my designs had text outside of the crop marks. I wanted to hand it in just the same but Andres suggests I go home to fix it. I make the changes and go all the way back to the printers and print it out again and the text is still outside the crop marks. I tell the printers it was alright at home and he says "impossible."  I decide to hand in just the same. I have now spent $90 on printing by this stage. While on my way to the uni I flick through my project and realise my two magazine layouts don't have crop marks, so now there are four out of six designs that are printed incorrectly. I park my car and angrily shove the A3 display folder through the small pigeon hole and leave. I get back to my car and I cry, I can't hold it in any longer. I decide to check my designs at home (again) and they are fine, like I thought but...too late. Not even the pretty pink flowers could cheer me. My stress this week has been great and I certainly felt it yesterday. I fell asleep by 6pm!

But today...today was Chilean Independence day. We go to my parents and they are making empanadas

Still trying to recuperate from an all nighter I pulled on Sunday. I stayed up till 4am finishing up an assignment that was due on Monday. I finally finished Monday morning and went to get it printed (I spent $38 at kwik kopy - the lady printed out everything on A3 when it was suppose to be two A4 on one A3), handed it in just the same and find out today that the assignments due date was extended till Friday GRRR! but at least I can get it reprinted properly. I can't wait till this week is over, I'm exhausted.

Some photos from my week so far...I got the prettiest letter today with some gorgeous stationery, it really made my day.

I'm off to bed, I can't keep these eyelids open any longer.

P.S I forgot to mention this...I didn't get the scholarship.

my addiction

I've had my nose in the books these past few days...but I am finding it extremely difficult to concentrate when I read online as I more often than not end up on the net, checking emails or blog hopping! Addicted? I think so.

I spent all day Sunday at my desk reading and drawing (OHH EMMM GEEE did I draw) and ended up waking up today with sore arms and shoulders from drawing a pen & ink illustration that I ended up re-doing 3 times. I wish I could say that I am actually learning something in illustration, but I am not. Our next project is a themed alphabet, and I am truly hoping these turn out a lot better.



On another note, I had an interview today. A scholarship interview. Keep your fingers crossed for me :D

oh dear

I wish I was good at painting but I am not. My first painting turned out quite horribly and I am in no way being modest. I ended up starting afresh and this is my result. I am still not overly happy with the outcome, my light blue sky ended up looking quite pastelly. Since when did mixing blue with white end up pastel blue? did I get my primary colour mixing wrong in grade 3? So although I am not too thrilled with it, I am satisfied...perhaps it is the hot chocolate talking :/
