lately

still here...I wish I could say I have been having adventure after adventure but my days and weeks are quickly slipping by without me really noticing. Lots of researching, lots of assignments, lots of worrying but at the same time a teeny tiny bit of fun and a mix of sad times too.

in other news I started an internship last week. I will share more about this soon but for now can I just say I love, love, love it! The perfect mix for this crazy girl.

PS I added a tiny shop to my blog, for now it is just photos of baby clothes

I wish I could say I was doing something super exciting that would explain the very long absence from here but truth be told my days are slowly slipping by with not much being done...just a little baking, a little crocheting and a little walking sometimes in the cool of the evening







Nothing too exciting...but holidays are meant to be peaceful and relaxing which they have definitely been. 2013 will be a very busy year for me, for those whom I told, (can't remember who exactly 'knows') I was sent an email August last year to apply for the honours program at uni and spent most of my days thinking yes I can do this! but a few minutes later thinking it was a crazy idea and I couldn't possibly do it. So being the procrastinator I am, I left to the very last minute and decided to apply thinking I will regret it years later if I didn't at least apply. As soon as I handed it in I thought they would definitely say no, I felt I had done so poorly on the written application. But on the 24th of December I was advised I was successful with my application. So for those who have been keeping their fingers crossed for me...thank you. I am sure your fingers are numb from it ;)

it has been a good week and my last one of freedom...uni starts Monday :(

bow ties & a cute bear

I spent most of first day of freedom cleaning...how utterly boring right? and my day just went on forever. There was lots to do, in fact I am sure there will be plenty tomorrow too :/
I also managed to finish my little bear with the slightest change, he was looking awfully plain so I decided to add a little bow tie, I hope the recipient falls in love with him OH and the little rabbit in the hat too ;)

to market, to market

my last week at home...how sad, it just went so quickly and there were so many things I wanted to do and had planned, but plans always change as I am sure everyone knows.
the above pictures are from a little trip to the flea market held at the drive-in & these were my finds. the most expensive item was the little house at $3, the plate was 50c and the dictionary $1...pretty awesome finds :)











later in the week I went out to take photos at my favourite location. I love going there as there are some amazing old houses. I could walk around for hours just looking at them all.



and I had mail arrive from Portugal from Ana...she actually sent me three nougat but I ate one and Andres the other, everything was so pretty :)





I have also been in the garden getting rid of the weeds between the pavers (which I cannot stand), it grew so quickly from the week of rain and I was almost done before being rained away.  It has been a pretty quiet week really :)

[+] Eeek! I have been truly a bad blogger lately but truth be told there is not a lot happening around these parts. Nothing but a whole lot of assignments. Oh and I can't forget mini-meltdowns too! I got my second photomedia assignment result and I flipped a little....just a little ;) 13.5 out of 20, I was truly crushed as this is the subject I am concentrating more on. But my spirits have lifted and I am trying not to be so hard on myself, I am truly my own worst critic. I have two photomedia assignments left and I am working hard on both. The top photo is for my third one on tea and my last one is graphically representing a poem or lyrics and I have chosen 'what a wonderful world' by Louis Armstrong which I have so many ideas for, and if they work out like I picture them I will show the results here.

[+] In other news I was approached yesterday by a friends daughter wanting me to do her wedding photography. Now I knew she was interested as she had emailed me and asked how much I would charge them to take photos at their wedding. I thought I emailed her back with a response but I hadn't so they decided to visit and ask in person. For those who don't know me or haven't really read my blog I only picked up a camera last year and I know I have learnt a little but to be the photographer for a wedding? YIKES! it is an extreme honour and at the same time a HUGE responsibility. I kept telling them that I was in no way a professional but they insisted and so in January 2012 I will be doing their photography...I am now a mix of emotions. Excited and in shock that I said yes. Nervous and full of ideas.

[+] The kids are selling chocolates at school. BOY do I hate it when they do as I usually have to buy myself one or a few, I usually forget how many :P

[+] Got a lovely rose by my daughter while she went for a bike ride. It is amazing what that bike has done for her confidence and anxiousness she was experiencing last year. She is like a different person. It is the prettiest flower, who knows from whose house she swiped it from though. I actually got a sleep in today and while it was lovely for a change I had an awful dream about her and couldn't wait to see her this afternoon after school.
