my last few days at uni and life has turned upside down or like my son used to say (when he was three or four) upsi-down-town. Pictured above are a few of the things that still make me feel a little normal despite all the crazy hours, sore arms and shoulders from working on the computer all day. I cannot believe this semester is almost over, I am happy uni is almost over but not happy about doing all the work...just three assignments left though ;)

these days
I survived a week of uni (YAY), there are times that I really feel exhausted by it all and this week was definitely one of those times but luckily I am still alive. I even got to do a little baking yesterday despite the horribly hot weather and today I actually left the house which was incredible despite the hot weather (again).
The first pic is of my flea market find Sunday...another one of my much cherished activities lately. Makes me feel a little more human ;)

cross your eyes
so my week 'off' has been fairly quiet, which is wonderful as the past few weeks have been a whirlwind of craziness. I have had one thing after the other happening and I kid you not. Some of these 'things' include nits, a year 12 graduation, a thief coming into our house while we are asleep and my car dying. I hope the last few days of this week go fairly smoothly.
I did however finally get to bake and I even got a slice too! banana bread or anything really around these parts don't last long. I am still itching to do a little more baking, not too sure what exactly but I am sure I have a recipe in my bookmarks that I haven't tried yet.
and today I got the red shoes that I ordered from China. My toes are a little squished and the workmanship of the shoes is not fantastic but if you cross your eyes you can hardly tell :P ha!

this weekend
boy did my weekend go super fast, as a matter of fact the whole of last week was a blur. Lots of assignment work that needed to be handed in before leaving PLUS mail that I finally posted before a trip to visit my sister for her birthday. It was only a short visit but we managed to go to the beach, which was amazing and the weather perfect! Still very sleepy from staying up late chatting, it shall be interesting to see how this week goes and fingers crossed I don't fall asleep in lectures.

hello spring
Hello September and hello spring! my absolute favourite season, I love seeing the flowers magically appear overnight and the sweet smell of flowers in the air. I cannot believe how quickly spring has arrived though, this year is simply flying and I am just plainly trying to keep up.
I will be going away for a few days to visit my older sister for her birthday, fingers crossed that the weather treats us well and that I finally get to put my feet in the ocean as it has been more than a year that I have been to the beach, far too long!
Have a wonderful week ;)

things
Sorry I've been away for so long, it has truly felt like an eternity. Maybe because I've hardly had my camera in my hands or because so much has been going on, but life has been crazy as usual. My internet has been down for the past two weeks, when it finally came on it lasted a short while before it died again THEN our little van died, Andres tried repairing it but then it died a few days later...it wasn't a good week AND to top that week off someone hacked my website and I lost my posts. Thankfully all is well again.
I wish I had taken a few more photos, but sadly this is it:

[heading off to church]

[made a rosemary & garlic focaccia]

[made finger buns...definitely posting the recipe soon]

[making some pan amasado...Chilean bread]

[another sneek peek of my moleskine...I write these things in ONLY to remind myself ]

[and this one is a pretty little dress I will be selling on my website very soon]
I hope everyone has been well...have a great weekend friends :)

a bit and a little
a bit of apple bread making (I am still looking for the perfect apple bread, this sadly wasn't 'it') and a little of my moleskine planner. I don't often show it but since I posted it on a organiser group I decided I would here too ;)

new home
this is my new blog...I wrote these words a few weeks back but unfortunately due to a hacker I lost that original post. I stupidly didn't think I needed to back up, big mistake! So here are the photos from that initial post...I just wish I could remember what I wrote :(

[light fixture I bought for my daughter's room]

[making some pasta]

[a little trip and I couldn't resist taking a photo of this 'winter' tree]

[progress on blanket I made]

[pretty mail from Felicia]

[making empanadas]

[progress on the blanket]

[baking some cookies]

[finishing up the blanket...I think it must weight 5kg]

[and lastly mail that is so very overdue]

no trees

a few random things
It really was my intention to blog a lot more during my uni holidays...but I have been enjoying myself offline and keeping myself occupied with so many things that by the time I was free it was too dark, or too late or I was far too tired. So the above photos are a little all over the place...
[+] a bit of mail making
[+] participating in a stationery swap
[+] guest blogging over at Bianca's
[+] eating pretty biscuits
[+] capturing bare winter trees
[+] knitting of a blanket (which I have not been able to continue as I ran out of wool)
[+] brownie making
[+] self portrait
[+] my latest op shop find
AND not pictured is the reading of 50 Shades of Grey book last weekend. I read all three of them and while I only did read them to see what all the hubbub was about I did in fact enjoy them. I will say that the author was very repetitious and it felt like she did a lot of copying and pasting throughout the book but nevertheless I enjoyed the part about the actual background of Christian Grey.
Now, only two weeks left of my holidays...I hope they go tremendously slow

life lately
my life lately
[+] a bit of flower picking from my garden
[+] a bit of op shopping
[+] visiting baby sister for her birthday and baking her macarons
[+] meeting baby sisters pup (who scratched me every time I walked by)
[+] finally finding a speak & spell after many, many years of wanting one
[+] planting my avocado
[+] a little more knitting
[+] rejoicing that the salted butter caramel turned out beautifully...what a shame the macarons didn't :(
