home again

I've started this post in my head so many times, so so many times. Isn't it funny how it always sounds much better when you are thinking about what to write? when it is actually time to write you can't think how to start or what to really write about. Ha! or perhaps it is just me.

The past few weeks have been crazy! crazy busy and just plain old crazy. There was so much going on and so many things that needed to be done. Just thinking about it now it is hard to remember all that occurred during those weeks. That is how crazy it got! But our son arrived safely to his new home up north and although the days seem like a big blur one thing is clear, he has left and it was hard times around here for me. I know he was super duper excited to leave, to experience independence and all of that but I couldn't help but wish he had stayed little just a little longer. But he has a few things to learn that can only be learnt while away from home. It is hard to let go of their hands when you were the one who has always been holding it for so long :( But he is well and eating (according to him) so I am happy.

It was a long drive up, crazy long but it was divided over two days so thankfully didn't feel too bad. The views were spectacular and it is a shame you can't drive and take photos at the same time. The above shots were taken driving through various parts and also during my week while at my sisters to keep myself busy and the last one was taken minutes before I left.

It feels good to get back home though after days away from your other children, I missed them like crazy PLUS missed out on celebrating my youngest boys birthday. Something that will be fixed this weekend :) Next week uni starts and I am eager to finally start. Cannot believe I made it to my last year. Wish me luck!

I hadn't planned to be away so long but life being just a little crazy (as usual) PLUS school holidays AND the icing on the cake the kids chomping through our internet limit way too quickly caused my long absence, thankfully our limit has just been restored and fingers crossed won't be gobbled too quickly this time, well we can only hope.

saturday at the beach

it was a gorgeous day at the beach...right up to the part where I got my period. A very unwelcome surprise, I didn't even get a chance to go in the water. My kids did and the two oldest love to scare their mum by going really far in so that I can barely see them...so lucky that they are boys!

this weekend

boy did my weekend go super fast, as a matter of fact the whole of last week was a blur. Lots of assignment work that needed to be handed in before leaving PLUS mail that I finally posted before a trip to visit my sister for her birthday. It was only a short visit but we managed to go to the beach, which was amazing and the weather perfect! Still very sleepy from staying up late chatting, it shall be interesting to see how this week goes and fingers crossed I don't fall asleep in lectures.

op shop finds & my five favourite people

I had a pretty stressful week, struggling with myself as usual with my photography so I was happy when friday came along. I grabbed myself a creme brulee and took myself down to my local vinnie's and found a gorgeous donna cover and the most loveliest flower bedsheet. It made my day! I truly don't know how I am going to survive this semester, there are a lot of things I have to organise but I am hoping that it will get easier with time.

Our weekend has been fairly wet with storms coming quite frequently and usually starting after hanging out the washing. But the clouds cleared a bit and the sun shone through, a truly magical moment. Just like the one below :) my kids are amazing!

[+] Eeek! I have been truly a bad blogger lately but truth be told there is not a lot happening around these parts. Nothing but a whole lot of assignments. Oh and I can't forget mini-meltdowns too! I got my second photomedia assignment result and I flipped a little....just a little ;) 13.5 out of 20, I was truly crushed as this is the subject I am concentrating more on. But my spirits have lifted and I am trying not to be so hard on myself, I am truly my own worst critic. I have two photomedia assignments left and I am working hard on both. The top photo is for my third one on tea and my last one is graphically representing a poem or lyrics and I have chosen 'what a wonderful world' by Louis Armstrong which I have so many ideas for, and if they work out like I picture them I will show the results here.

[+] In other news I was approached yesterday by a friends daughter wanting me to do her wedding photography. Now I knew she was interested as she had emailed me and asked how much I would charge them to take photos at their wedding. I thought I emailed her back with a response but I hadn't so they decided to visit and ask in person. For those who don't know me or haven't really read my blog I only picked up a camera last year and I know I have learnt a little but to be the photographer for a wedding? YIKES! it is an extreme honour and at the same time a HUGE responsibility. I kept telling them that I was in no way a professional but they insisted and so in January 2012 I will be doing their photography...I am now a mix of emotions. Excited and in shock that I said yes. Nervous and full of ideas.

[+] The kids are selling chocolates at school. BOY do I hate it when they do as I usually have to buy myself one or a few, I usually forget how many :P

[+] Got a lovely rose by my daughter while she went for a bike ride. It is amazing what that bike has done for her confidence and anxiousness she was experiencing last year. She is like a different person. It is the prettiest flower, who knows from whose house she swiped it from though. I actually got a sleep in today and while it was lovely for a change I had an awful dream about her and couldn't wait to see her this afternoon after school.
